Remote Work Life: Benefits, Challenges & Balance

When I first started working from home just a few months ago, it felt like stepping into a long-awaited dream: a warm cup of coffee, pajamas all day, no interruptions—just me and my own rhythm.

I thought I had finally found the perfect balance. But, as they say, not everything is as it looks on Instagram… or in this picture here 👇

After a few months of remote work (and more than a few conversations with myself), I realized that working from home brings many beautiful moments—but also its own set of challenges.

The Advantages I’ve Come to Love

1. My time – my rhythm
The best feeling? Starting the day when it works for me. Remote work gave me the freedom to shape my day, to work when I’m most creative, and to take a break when I truly need it.

2. Focus like I’ve never had before
Without office noise, constant interruptions, or surprise meetings, I finally learned what it means to focus deeply. In the quiet of my own space, my creativity began to bloom.

3. Work-life balance
Remote work gave me something I had been missing for a long time—time for myself and my loved ones. I finally took the step I had been postponing: I enrolled in a Graphic Design Academy. Alongside my job, I now nurture and grow my creative side every day.

4. Money for memories, not habits
When you no longer spend on daily lunches out or new office clothes, you realize how much you can actually save. Best of all? I turn those savings into trips with friends—full of laughter, new stories, and memories that last forever.

The Challenges I Learned to Manage

1. Feeling isolated
At first, silence was my best ally. But over time, I started to miss people, spontaneous conversations, and little office jokes. I found my solution at The Hub by Adeva—a coworking space that became my second home. I go there a few times a week and always return full of inspiration and new friendships.

2. Endless workdays
When your office is at home, it’s easy to blur the lines between personal and professional life. “Just one more task” easily turns into several more hours. I had to learn that productivity doesn’t mean working all day—it means knowing when to log off and dedicate time to yourself.

3. Days without motivation or creativity
There are days when inspiration simply doesn’t come. But I’ve learned that motivation is built by completing small tasks, playing music that moves me, and rewarding myself for a job well done.

4. When Wi-Fi fails at the worst possible moment
Yes, sometimes remote work feels like a sitcom scene: frozen screens, dropped calls, and trying to stay professional while your internet decides to betray you. But with patience, good organization, and a solid backup plan—everything can be solved.

Remote Work Is More Than a Style—It’s a Way of Life

Remote work has taught me that true success isn’t measured only by results, but also by the feeling of fulfillment along the way. I’ve learned to be more present, freer, and more mindful.

Honestly, I wouldn’t trade this way of working for anything in the world! Working remotely gave me the freedom to design my day, to follow my dreams, and to be my true self—both professionally and personally.

I believe that when you work from the place where you feel most yourself, both success and happiness come naturally.

Sincerely yours,
Lori

Cinderella Remake: Fairytales, Love & Real-Life Lessons

Exactly a decade ago, Disney gifted us its Cinderella remake (2015)—a film with a stunning cast, beautifully crafted scenes, iconic glass slippers, and the unforgettable message that continues to echo through time: “Have courage and be kind.”

Ten years later, I revisit this story of love, transformation, and destiny, and I can’t help but wonder—how much do fairytales truly resemble real life?

The fairytale we all grew up with

We all grew up with Cinderella—the girl who, despite the cruelty of the world around her, remained gentle, noble, and full of hope. And of course, there was the moment we were taught to believe in from childhood—the prince would come, recognize her true worth, and change her life forever.

But what happens when the clock strikes midnight in reality?

Disney Cinderella 2015 remake glass slipper scene, symbolizing fairytales vs reality, love, relationships, and self-empowerment

The glass slipper vs real life

The glass slipper in Cinderella is perfect—delicate, fragile, and made only for her. But in reality? Finding shoes that fit perfectly on the first try is rare. Most of the time, we try them on, they pinch, they blister, or simply aren’t made for us.

The same goes for love.

The idea of “the one”—someone who will recognize us instantly without words—is beautiful, but often far from reality. True relationships take time, effort, compromise, and sometimes the courage to walk away when something doesn’t fit, no matter how attractive it looks from the outside.

No fairy godmother in real life

Cinderella had a fairy godmother who transformed her life in an instant. One “bibbidi-bobbidi-boo”, and she was no longer a servant but a princess.

In real life, there’s no magic wand. No one arrives overnight to make us successful, happy, and fulfilled.

But that doesn’t mean there’s no magic. On the contrary—the magic is within us.

It’s in the sleepless nights spent working on our dreams, in the small steps forward, in the risks we dare to take. We are our own fairy godmothers, shaping our destiny one choice at a time.

Kindness, boundaries, and lessons

In fairytales, characters are either good or evil. But in real life, people are complex. Cinderella was kind even to those who wronged her. Yet life teaches us something else too—that sometimes the wisest choice is to walk away from people who don’t wish us well.

Kindness is a virtue, but it doesn’t mean tolerating those who abuse it. Life teaches us to set boundaries. To forgive, but not to allow the same story to repeat itself.

Love beyond the ballroom

In the movie, Cinderella and the prince share one dance, lock eyes, and—happily ever after. But in life, love is not just one magical moment. It’s a collection of countless choices.

It’s not about whether someone chooses us, but whether both choose each other—day after day.

Happiness is not the “end” of a story. It lives in the small moments in between—in spontaneous laughter, in a glass of wine after a long day, in the choices we make for ourselves without waiting for someone else to save us.

The real magic

A decade later, Cinderella still symbolizes magic and hope. But the true fairytale? It isn’t about princes, balls, or glass slippers.

The real magic is knowing that you don’t need someone else to “fix” your story—you are the author of the most beautiful fairytale in your own life.

And if someone along the way recognizes your worth and chooses to walk beside you? Well, that’s simply a bonus.

Sincerely yours,

Lori

With Love, Meghan Netflix Review – Worth Watching?

When I first spotted With Love, Meghan listed under “Coming Soon” on Netflix last December, I’ll admit—I was curious. Meghan Markle has always been a polarizing figure. For some, she’s an inspiring icon; for others, a source of endless controversy. I decided to approach her new lifestyle series with an open mind, hoping it would bring something fresh and authentic.

Spoiler: it didn’t.

What Is With Love, Meghan About?

With Love, Meghan is an eight-part Netflix series where the Duchess of Sussex takes on the role of a modern lifestyle guru. Each episode showcases elements of home living—cooking, gardening, crafting—often alongside celebrity guests like Mindy Kaling and Alice Waters.

On paper, it sounds like the perfect recipe for a soothing, inspiring lifestyle show—something in the vein of Martha Stewart, but with a royal twist.

The reality? The show feels completely disconnected from real life.

Meghan invites us into a world where everything looks perfect, flawless, and meticulously staged. Every shot resembles a glossy magazine spread of luxury living. There are no real challenges, no vulnerable or relatable moments—just a carefully curated fairytale of domestic bliss with Meghan as the ideal hostess.

Let’s be honest—does anyone truly believe Meghan spends hours pruning roses or kneading sourdough bread by hand?

I don’t think so.

Criticism and Audience Reactions

I’m not the only one who feels this way. Reviews have been brutal. The Guardian called it “pointless,” The Independent labeled it “tiring and overdone,” and IMDb currently ranks it a disappointing 2.4/10.

On social media, viewers are nearly unanimous: “The fakest thing I’ve ever watched!”

It’s not hard to see why. When a lifestyle is presented as an unattainable fairytale, it leaves the audience frustrated instead of inspired. What’s missing are honesty, vulnerability, and authenticity. Instead, we’re left with staged perfection that feels distant and hollow.

Is With Love, Meghan Worth Watching?

I wanted to like this show. I really did. And I think it could have been much better if Meghan had embraced imperfection and shown more real-life struggles. Imagine episodes where the cakes burn, the garden doesn’t bloom, or she struggles to master a new skill. That would have been refreshing and human.

Instead, With Love, Meghan feels more like an extended Instagram reel—visually beautiful, but lacking depth.

If you’re looking for genuinely heartwarming and authentic lifestyle content, I recommend watching Queer Eye on Netflix or Selena + Chef on HBO. These shows radiate warmth, honesty, and a genuine slice of life.

Final Verdict

So, should you watch With Love, Meghan?

If you’re simply curious or need some background noise while cooking, cleaning, or waiting on the laundry, then yes—it might keep you company. There are a few minor educational moments sprinkled throughout, and it’s harmless enough if you don’t expect too much.

But if you’re searching for something meaningful, inspiring, and truly engaging, you’ll be better off skipping this one.

What about you? Have you already watched With Love, Meghan? Share your thoughts in the comments below—I’d love to hear your perspective.

Sincerely yours,

Lori
